£12.2m complex opens in Birmingham

Birmingham City Council (BCC) and DC Leisure have launched a new £12.2m Harborne Pool and Fitness Centre.

The centre is located on the site of the city’s former Harborne Baths and is the first new public swimming pool built in Birmingham for more than 20 years.

Wates Construction delivered the building and architects Saunders Boston were behind the design.

DC Leisure business development director Tim Hewett added: “With the Olympics just a few months away, Harborne Pool and Fitness Centre is well positioned to welcome those looking to take on a healthier and more active lifestyle.”
