Hotel groups shortlisted for <em>The Guardian</em> Sustainable Business Awards

The 2016 Guardian Sustainable Business Awards shortlist made interesting reading, particularly with regard to the types of businesses that were included in the various categories.

Category winners will be announced 27 May

There are thirteen categories reflecting the wide range of activities that contribute to sustainable business. Businesses that are directly involved in leisure property have been shortlisted in two: carbon and energy management (InterContinental Hotels Group and Considerate Hoteliers), and water (Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group).

Congratulations to all the businesses that made the shortlist and if your business didn’t make it this year, best of luck for next year.

Carbon and energy management: (Reducing a companies’ emissions is key to meeting carbon reduction targets. This is an award for initiatives that take a holistic approach to measuring, managing and reducing emissions. Source The Guardian).

This award will recognise an organisation that can demonstrate its commitment to water sustainability through projects, technologies, designs or policies that improve water availability, access or quality.
