| Ferrari Land has opened as an extension to PortAventura World on the Costa Dorada in Spain at a cost of €100 million. |
The new park will feature 11 attractions but the big draws will be rollercoaster Red Force and an immersive Ferrari Experience.
Red Force, the fastest and tallest rollercoaster in Europe, accelerates to a top speed of 110 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. (Hold on tight!). At a height of 112 metres (367 ft) it dwarfs the UK’s tallest rollercoaster – Blackpool’s The Big One – by more than one hundred feet.
The Ferrari Experience building has two simulator attractions – Flying Dreams and Racing Legends – and features an exhibition of the iconic brand’s history.
There are other reasons to visit the park: Ferrari Land is beautifully landscaped with a gorgeous reproduction of a Renaissance Italian town, complete with ornate piazzas and a bell tower.
The world’s tallest rollercoaster is 456 ft high and is located at Six Flags Great Adventure park in New Jersey, US. Aficionados have been eagerly awaiting the building of Skyplex 360 an even taller tower planned for Orlando. Despite several delays it is due to be open by 2020.
The fastest rollercoaster in the world is at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, and reaches a top speed of 149 mph.
