Park of Poland – Phase One opens with a waterpark

| Ambition is to become the biggest amusement park in Central and Eastern Europe within six years. |

Leading creator of waterslides and waterparks, Polin Waterparks, has provided a host of iconic slides.

The first part of the park to open is the Polin “Waterpark”, a huge indoor aqua park which has a giant all-glass enclosure. It is 20 hectares (49 acres) in size and features more than a dozen of Polin Waterparks’ signature waterslides. A glass-panelled domed roof can slide open or closed to create a palm-tree-filled paradise no matter what the weather.

The new park is being developed by Global City Holdings (Rotterdam, Holland) in cooperation with strategic partner Wund Unternehmensgruppe (Friedrichshafen, Germany). Wund Unternehmensgruppe, which will be responsible for managing the waterpark, has significant experience with similar operations in Germany. Its most well-known facility is Therme Erding, Europe’s largest indoor swimming pool with a removable roof.

The Park of Poland, with a budget of €180 million (US$190.6), has been designed to appeal to guests of all ages. It is hoped that it will kick-start a new industry in Poland.

Located around 37 miles from Warsaw, attendance is predicted to hit 1 million in its first year and employ 1,100 staff.
