Odeon has withdrawn its planning application to refurbish its Guildford cinema and extend it into the former Old Orleans restaurant building.
The cinema giant had submitted proposals to Guildford Borough Council (GBC) in February to build two new screens at its Bedford Road site, extending it into the building adjacent to it, which has laid vacant for a number of years.
Two new, 74 seat auditoriums at the cinema looked set to be accompanied by some refurbishments being carried out, and a new exterior look for the large, white Old Orleans building.
