Film fans and families will soon be able to catch the latest blockbusters, independent movies, and live-streamed theatre productions at a new £3 million luxury cinema opening in Nottinghamshire next month.
The Arc Cinema has taken over the premises of the former old Byron movie theatre in High Street, Hucknall.
Bosses originally intended for the four-screen multiplex to open at the end of March but following coronavirus lockdown measures its launch date was moved to Saturday July 4, the first date the UK Government said cinemas in England are allowed to open.
The final preparations have now been carried out to ensure the cinema is ready to welcome film fans as soon as allowed with all the necessary safety features in place to cope with the ongoing social distancing requirements.
Recently appointed manager, and Hucknall resident, Mark Gallagher can’t wait to get his teeth stuck in.
He said: “I love films and I am really looking forward to bringing cinema back to the people of Hucknall in this fantastic building. The finishing touches have now been made and we can’t wait to open our doors.
“We know people will be delighted with the quality, comfort and service on offer in their new cinema. There will be special measures in place because of the Covid 19 restrictions to ensure the safety of all our visitors and staff but we are certain that they won’t detract from the overall experience”
The cinema will have 425 luxury leather electric recliner seats, laser digital projection and Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound. All screens are wheelchair accessible and will have subtitled screenings. There will also be kids’ clubs and parent and baby screenings…
