The Utilita Live From The Drive-In series has been called off after the organisers said it was impossible to continue with any confidence
A series of drive-in socially distanced concerts across the UK this summer have been cancelled, it has been confirmed.
Utilita Live From The Drive-In was a series of socially distanced events expected to take place in the coming weeks featuring stars such as Dizzee Rascal, Kaiser Chiefs and The Streets.
The concerts, run by Live Nation, were the first events of their kind to be brought to the country following the outbreak of the coronavirus.
But Live Nation has now confirmed its Utilita Live From The Drive-In series has been cancelled due to the ‘latest developments regarding localised lockdowns’.
The government’s strategy is to have targeted responses to local clusters or outbreaks with the city of Leicester remaining under lockdown.
The drive-in concerts were a unique opportunity for music fans to enjoy a gig in safety by parking their cars – socially distanced – to watch the on-stage action…
