Multimillion-pound transformation of 1930s cinema completes

The £5m transformation of Lichfield’s 1930s Regal Cinema into an apartment development is complete.

Homeowners have started moving into The Old Picture House in Tamworth Street, which comprises 36 one and two bedroom apartments.

Birmingham-based developer Somerton Jones, working with Lodge Park Homes, has restored the building’s Art Deco style frontage and named each style of apartment after a 1930s cinema star.

To mark the completion, Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant took a tour of the development with Somerton Jones director Warren Jones.
