A cinema is “100 per cent” going to be opening in Tunbridge Wells – say the pair behind the exciting venture.
Jon Lock and Mike Antoine, who both live in the town and are “obsessed with cinema” are currently talking to individuals and companies about “early stage investment”.
The boutique cinema with two small screening rooms, a lounge and bar area and possibly even a shop selling memorabilia is planned for the space formerly taken up by the town’s long closed tourist attraction, A Day At The Wells on The Pantiles.
Interest and support for the project has been “overwhelming” said Jon, 48, who with Mike, 35, owns digital design agency Antoine Lock, on The Pantiles. They have created the company The Cinema Project Limited for their venture.
The business partners are reluctant to nail down dates about building work or official opening, but said they are working towards completing the build stage in the summer, with a hoped for opening in December…..
