Hospitality and tourism sectors threaten legal action over reopening delays

A 45-strong group of hospitality, tourism and event companies is threatening to take legal action against the government if its newly proposed date for restriction-free operating faces further delays.

The collective, led by Sacha Lord, night time economy adviser for Greater Manchester, have written a joint letter to Prime Minister Boris Johnson calling for confirmation that the proposed full reopening of hospitality on 19 July will not change.

The legal action would take the form of a judicial review, with the letter sent by JMW Solicitors on behalf of Lord, Hugh Osmond and Christopher Naylor, managing director and owner of the Boutique Hotel Group….
