Takeaway pints and outdoor dining are set to be important parts of the government’s “levelling up agenda”, which the prime minister is expected to reveal in a speech this week.
Boris Johnson will reveal plans to energise the country’s high streets, which include drastic changes to the hospitality industry’s operations.
Pavement licences are set to be extended and made permanent, with the goal of making it cheaper for restaurants, pubs and cafes to serve more customers outdoors.
Furthermore, pubs will be given temporary permission to serve takeaway pints for another year to boost sales.
