Next Steps for £70m Littlewoods TV and Film Studio

The next steps have been set out to unlock a potential £70m redevelopment of the iconic Littlewoods building in Liverpool, which could create almost 4,000 jobs. The scheme would aim to create one of the UK’s biggest TV and film complexes.

The project includes major studios, creative office and new media facilities, and seeks to transform Liverpool into one of Europe’s premier TV and film hubs.

The former art-deco HQ of the Littlewoods empire has been vacant for decades and is in a state of severe dilapidation, including fire damage in 2018.

A report, which will go to the Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet next Friday, sets out proposals to kick-start a major redevelopment in two phases.

Approval is being sought to begin an £8m remediation of the building in early 2022.
