GALLERY | Vision unveiled for former MoD Lake District barracks
A 16,000 sq ft community hub, 50 custom-build house plots, and eight holiday homes are proposed to be created on the 11-acre plot off Church Lane near Bootle.
Custom-build housing developer Hugr Homes, along with property group FNS, is seeking to regenerate the now-vacant Cumbria site, formerly a Ministry of Defence barracks dating back to 1942.
The 50 residential plots have been designed to accommodate custom-build housing, where homeowners buy the land in order build their own homes.
Each house must adhere to the Lake District’s design code, which seeks to reinforce the area’s unique heritage.
