Reading’s Broad Street Mall cinema could open in just four weeks after police u-turn

A new independent cinema could open its doors at Reading’s Broad Street Mall in just four weeks. Indie cinema company Really Local Group have been preparing to open Reading Biscuit Factory since early 2020, and were left ” baffled” when the police and council objected to their plans. But both authorities have now withdrawn their objections, leaving the cinema opening on track for four to eight weeks’ time. A spokesman for Reading Borough Council said: “Objections have been withdrawn. All parties are in agreement, so the meeting has been dispensed with.”………

Government hands out £100m of regenerations cash
