Museum of London’s latest Smithfield plans – with twice the budget

The Museum of London has revealed detailed plans of its proposed move into Smithfield Market and confirmed the scheme will now cost £332 million – more than double the original competition budget. Set to go out to public consultation later this week, the designs for the abandoned buildings near Farringdon have been drawn up by Stanton Williams, Asif Khan and Julian Harrap Architects. Plan to regenerate Huddersfield includes hotel and cinema

A ten-year £250m masterplan to regenerate six areas across Huddersfield to “create a thriving, modern-day town centre” has been launched. Kirklees Council has launched the Huddersfield Blueprint, which focuses on regenerating six focus areas in the town centre: Station Gateway, St Peter’s, Kingsgate and King Street, New Street, the Civic Quarter and the new Cultural Heart.
